Dear Chriselle + Jane

June 17, 2016 in Letters

This Father's Day, I've asked a few of my favorite dads to write a letter to their daughters, to share why they are proud to be their father.

This one is dedicated to my childhood friends: Chriselle and Jane Lim.

My Journey: From Young Father to Grandpa (by Mr. Moon Lim)

My Dearest Chriselle and Jane,

Father’s Day is coming … This year’s Father’s Day, I want to give Father’s Day gift to myself by recalling my privilege of being your father.  How blessed and joyful my journey it has been from being a father until to be the grandpa today.  Being a father is truly the blessing, and living as a father is indescribable happiness.  From the your time of infant babies, school girls and college students until professional women, and mother, every single moment was exciting (and nervous too :)) and full of love.  Mom and I never forget that we cried in the car after dropping Chriselle at the college dormitory in LA.  We never forget your mom cried so much at Safeway a day after we dropped Jane in UC Davis.  We never forget the trip to Disney World in Orlando.  So many unforgettable moments with both of you, Chriselle and Jane.  Yah, time flies so quickly and it’s unbelievable that I became a grandpa.

Chriselle, thank you for giving us Chloe as my granddaughter.  I thank you for your so much hard-working and being beloved wife and wonderful mother.  Jane, I thank you for your effort and wisdom to live in NY by yourself.  We always have a dream of you living nearby us.

Chriselle and Jane, you are walking on the path of journey.  The path was, sometimes is, and will be bumpy, rough, and uphill, and also be smooth, flat and nice.  I never want you to forget the gifts given by God, your worth, strength, and value while you are walking on this journey.  Mom and I  pray every day for you and you always have us next to you.  I love you so much and again thank you for having me become to be your father.

Love.

Daddy
